Elric's AC3D Tutorial No 1 15th May 2000 - Smooth low poly wings in under 10 mins : Technical writing is not something I do on a regular
basis ( I should ) 1. Put the kettle on. 2. Create an airfoil shape Draw your airfoil poly, the each wing section will
have
3. Extrude the object Use CTRL to do it in one direction.
4. In Vertex mode , scale one end down to suit. Ok, that's one wing section, next!
5. On the same end select the vertices and do Surface->Cutaway object Click on object mode. 6. Extrude and scale as before
7. Select the 2 objects 8. Optimize surfaces 9. Set 1-sided fix normals if needed 10. Select all and smooth. 11. Edit-> duplicate. 12. Flip normals on new objects 13. Mirror about the X axis
14. Have a cup of tea. Questions? Email me simon@wggi.demon.co.uk |
