Elric's AC3D Tutorial No 1

15th May 2000  - Smooth low poly wings in under 10 mins :

Technical writing is not something I do on a regular basis ( I should )
Verbosity is not to be expected! Of course when you do this you will have
your 3 plan wing view as a background image for reference.

1. Put the kettle on.

2. Create an airfoil shape

Draw your airfoil poly, the each wing section will have
n + 2 polys where n is the number of vertices in your airfoil.

3. Extrude the object

Use CTRL to do it in one direction.

4. In Vertex mode , scale one end down to suit.

Ok, that's one wing section, next!

5. On the same end select the vertices and do Surface->Cutaway object

Click on object mode.

6. Extrude and scale as before

7. Select the 2 objects

8. Optimize surfaces

9. Set 1-sided fix normals if needed

10.  Select all and smooth.

11. Edit-> duplicate.

12. Flip normals on new objects

13. Mirror about the X axis

14.  Have a cup of tea.
