From Rendsburger, a small tutorial on terrain editing.  This was originally in Word format so I took the liberty of adding the background.  If someone wants to do appropriate screen captures, let me know... and I will include them.

Terrain tutorial:

Start OPS 2 times

1.Open rhineland.sm (terrain)in one OPS and the tundraterrain.sm in the other OPS.

2.Copy all tundra terrain tiles into the rhineland terrain

3.Delete the rhineland tiles.

4.Change texture path to the tundra terrain/texture folder.

5.Save as tundra.sm

Airfield tutorial:

1.Add DisplayCoords=1 to the sdemons.ini file

2.Start SDOE and fly a tundramission.Hit S and you can "fly" where ever you want using numkeys.Hit them more to fly faster.Search for a place where the airfield should be.Hit Alt-M and write down the coordinates.

Start OPS

Open the new tundra.sm (terrain)

3.Search the terrain tiles by watching the coordinates to find the terrain tiles.

Example:tundra#123

Export the terrain tiles as obj file.

4.Open the rhineland.sm

5.Look in the left window for airfield1 and the airfield1 plug number.

Export the terrain tile with the same number (not the plug itself!) as obj file.

Example:terrain#300

Start a 3D Software ( I use the free software anim8or)

6.Open the tundra#123 Obj

7.Write all coordinates (x,y,z)of any outline point down

8.Open the terrain#300 Obj.

9.Write all coordinates of any inline point (the hole) down.

10.Create a new terrain model using the outline and the in-linepoints.Sometimes the in-linepoints are to low, so you have to add a number to all in-linepoints.Example: +500

11.Texture the new terrain model.

12.Export the new tile and import it in OPS to replace the old tundra#123

13.Replace the airfield1 plug with the old unmodified tundra#123 tile

14.Save all and open the rhineland.sm

15.Write down the coords of the airfield1.sm and the terrain#300 tile

16.Write down the difference of the x and y coordinates

15.Open the new tundra.sm again

17.Change the coordinates of airfield1 to the same as tundra#123 and + or - the difference you wrote down before.Add also +500 to the z-axis.Use "manually enter a translation"to do this.

Change the path of the airfield to the airfields/tundra folder

Save all.

18.Use hippies tools to text edit the airfield1.sm

Rename "rhineland" names to "tundra" and change the x,y,z coordinates of the airfield origin.

Build a new sm file and put the airfield into the tundra folder.

Start OPS again

19.Open the rhineland.sm you find in the missioneditor folder.Copy airfield1

20.Open the tundra.sm you find in the missioneditor folder and past airfield1

21.Change the x and y coordinates of airfield1 to the same coords you use in the tundraterrain.sm and maybe the name. You donīt need to change the z coordinates for airfields here.

Save all.

22.Open the airfields.sm you find in the rhineland folder.Change the path of airfield1 to tundra and save it into the tundra airfield folder. (I donīt know if SDOE really need it,but I have done it)

23.Use hippies tools to text edit the tundra.sm terrain .Rename all "rhineland" names to "tundra".Build a new tundra.sm.Now you see the tundra map in Game instead of the rhineland map.

Thatīs all,I hope I forget nothing.

You can do the same with the towns.
