These tools are used in the tutorials I have
posted. I know there are other things used, but not in the tutorials ;). I
will try to also list the tools (with links) needed at the beginning (usually on the side)
of each tutorial.
OpenPlane
Tools These are the ParFile tools.
OpenPlane
Documentation Not mentioned directly in the tutorials this is a MUST if you are
going to get serious.
AC3D Modeling software. Used by low end gamers
such as myself who can only dream of 3DSMax.... AC3D is about $40 (US).
Hippie's OL Tools V.9
Hippie's new tools are referred to as the "OL" tools, that
stands for "OpenPlane Language." These are a much improved version of Hippie's
tools. I have just started to use them, so expect to see my older pages updated to reflect
the use of the new tools soon! It works very much the way the old builder/extractor did.
The improvements include a much easier to read asc type of file, better positioning of
parts and DOFs in AC3D (new ac3d plugins as well), and more!
OpenPlane Studio
This download contains the 4 most popular versions of OPS, as well as the OpenPlane
Standard. a must for anyone who wants to work on planes.
- OPS 1.03 Probbaly the best version ever for
importing and exporting LODS.
- OPS1.21
- OPS 1.30 Probabaly the version used most
frequently.
- OPS 1.42 The latest version.
- OpenPlane Standard Lets you know what
properties do what.
OpToolKit
This download contains the tool that was started by Elric. It
has some functionality, most notably its ability to see inside PAR files
and to extract a single file. (So if you had that special skin you
wanted to modify but it only existed in a PAR file, you didn't have to
tear the whole thing apart to get it... One of its other features
will list referenced but unused textures for you (removing unused
references will help frame rates).
PLEASE NOTICE: IF you are a
Delphi programmer, and would like to help make this tool all it can be,
please visit the OpToolKit
website!!!
